How do franking credits work?
Some companies pay franked dividends, which means the company has already paid tax on these dividends. When a fund receives franked dividends, they distribute the franking credits along with the dividends to you, based on the number of units you hold.
Subject to satisfying certain criteria, franked dividends generally entitle you to obtain a tax offset (or credit) against your income tax liability.
