Types of Islamic Insurance
Like Islamic mortgage finance, there are different modes of Takaful Protection under Islamic principles. There is the Agency (Wakala) model under which the operator is paid a fee for facilitating the pooling of risk among the Protection policyholders. Alternatively, a Profit-Share (Mudaraba) model permits the operator to share in both the profits and losses. Various Hybrid models have also been established.
