Will I need to notify Hejaz if I carry out renovations to my home?

With our Ijarah model, you have complete ownership of the property, allowing you to conduct renovations and/or sale of the property. However, as with everything, there are some limitations to this.


From a lender's perspective, it is important for Hejaz to ensure and safeguard the resale value of the property, which involves making sure that any renovations conducted do not diminish the property's value. These restrictions or conditions will be clearly stipulated in the mortgage documents.


In essence, we are not denying your ability to make renovations, but rather ensuring that any major structural renovations that you are considering are informed to us. This helps to ensure the maintenance of property value and minimize any other risks associated.
